Dr. Seuss lives!!!!!!!

I do not like this Uncle Sam; I do not like his healthcare scam.

I do not like when Congress steals; I do not like their secret deals.

I do not like this speaker Nan; I do not like this "YES WE CAN".

I do not like this spending spree; I'm smart, I know that nothing's free.

I do not like their smug replies, when I complain about their lies.

I do not like this kind of hope; I do not like it, nope, nope, nope!

Russ Roberts: Hayek: An Economist's Comeback - WSJ.com

Hayek, Chicago School economonic professor, philosopher and part of the Austrian school of thought best known for his defense of classical liberalism and free-market capitalism against socialist and collectivist thought. He is considered to be one of the most important economists and political philosophers of the twentieth century. Hayek's account of how changing prices communicate signals which enable individuals to coordinate their plans is widely regarded as an important achievement in economics.

He also warns that centralization of economic power in a central government may lead to lessened political and individual liberty.

The money quote...
Despite the caricatures of his critics, Hayek never said that totalitarianism was the inevitable result of expanding government's role in the economy. He simply warned us of the possibility and the costs of heading in that direction. We should heed his warning. I don't know if we're on the road to serfdom, but wherever we're headed, Hayek would certainly counsel us to turn around.
Always a good read, his understanding of human nature enabled him to meld economic and political thinking.

Top 8 reasons why the obamessiah is a wonderful thing....

The Obamessiah fires his hand picked general for the Afghanistan surge after there were a couple of comments reported in an article.....

The empty suit Commander-in-Chief was forced to fire his hand picked Afghanistan surge general due to a few inappropriate comments reported in a music magazine. This is supposed to show that the speech-maker is now in charge. Sticks and stones may break one's bones but words like this cannot be tolerated. This guy is so weak that weaklings must be ashamed.

Its just incredible that this clown is President. It reminds me of a famous scene in a performance that always amazing me. The craft of acting can be marvelous if done well.

But of course there are others that have other viewpoints.....

And people that make advertising also face similar challenges to those of military people.

The Obamessiah working overtime trying to become the worst President in centuries....

With this wonderful quote....'I can't suck it up with a straw.' Oh, poor Barry, expectations were so high for this guy since he was a transformational President. No solutions to the oil spill? Of course. But after the left excoriated Bush days after Katrina, accused him of doing this due to racism, and cutting the feckless Obamessiah tons of slack, the American populace is finally finding out this guy is worse than an empty suit. Reality has hit him and the bug eating Renfields that support this clown and another speech will just not work. With no executive experience or even a history of making decisions, the nation had drifted hard into the leftist camp as stronger Democratic personalities took over the till of the ship. Locating and getting back on the path to prosperity will be a difficult task for a nation that now on the slippery slope of socialism and has now an embedded culture of dependency.

It will get much much worse before it gets better.

Is the Tea Party a 'Social Justice' Movement?

Is the Tea Party a 'Social Justice' Movement?

Can one say; unfunded federal mandates and feveral crowding out of state's taxing capacity?

The finances of the states is in critical condition and I suspect that there will be a handful of states that will be forced to renegotiate their vebts and their pension and health obligations before this is all over.....
But there is one place where reality is already starting to bite in America and that is in terms of state finances. Just look at the statistics. A report from the US Center on Budget and Policy Priorities issued last month estimates that in fiscal 2010 the US states collectively posted a $200bn-odd budget shortfall, equivalent to 30 per cent of all state budgets.

Last year, that pain was partly eased by Barack Obama’s stimulus package(s). But that spending splurge is now fading away. And in fiscal 2011 and 2012, the states are expected to face another combined budget deficit of $260bn, with the 2011 shortfall in places such as New Jersey, Illinois, Nevada and Arizona projected to be more than 35 per cent of last year’s budget.
The principle issue here is that during good times, states spend lavishly and during bad times these lavish spending habits are unsustainable. But even more insidious, is that the United States federal government mandates spending by states for various initiatives such as health and welfare without providing funds to meet these obligations. Additionally, states are limited in their ability to tax since higher taxes in one jurisdiction may cause tax payers to shift to other states where taxes are lower. This competition amongst the states limits the ability of one state to increase taxes and additionally impacted by the large amounts of taxes already collected by the federal government. It is also important to note that the federal government is not subject to this competition as the states are since citizens are not as open to moving to other countries and even those that do, are subject to federal taxes on global income (most nations do not tax global income).

Thought of the day....

EU Debt Crisis - Government Expanded 'Like a Cancer': Marc Faber - CNBC
"I think that governments have become like a cancer, they have expanded in the financial system," Faber said.

"I think the biggest problem is too much intervention. Whatever the government touches is usually done worse than in the private sector," he said.

Quote of the day......

Democrats Vote Down 5 Percent Rule

In a bid to stem taxpayer losses for bad loans guaranteed by federal housing agencies Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn) proposed that borrowers be required to make a 5% down payment in order to qualify. His proposal was rejected 57-42 on a party-line vote because, as Senator Chris Dodd (D-Conn) explained, “passage of such a requirement would restrict home ownership to only those who can afford it.”

When people you know can't explain why they voted for Democrats, give them this list. They can then pick a reason....

When people you know can't explain why they voted for Democrats, give them this list. They can then pick a reason....

10. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.

9. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

8. I voted Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

7. I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

6. I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

5. I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies through abortion so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

4. I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

3. I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.

2. I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

1. I voted Democrat because I wanted to prove that I was not prejudiced and would give even an unqualified, inexperienced black man a chance to be the leader of the US.

I am regaining some faith in humanity as a Turkish religious leader speaks out against the abominable behavior of the Turkish participant in the Gaza flotilla and describes the clash between secular government proponents and Islamic government supporters.

Armenian genocide.....

Some lovely pictures of the Armenian genocide by Turkey nearly a 100 years ago. The crazed islamists in Turkey are complicit in supporting radical groups that attack Israeli civilians such as Hamas and Hezbollah. If we do not stand up to these insane people, then what? I know that the spinelss Europeans will only condemn Israel instead of the actual protagonists. Europe is only appeasing crazed Muslims. But if you think that this will work, when they are done with Israel, they will attack you next.

Europeans are nothing but useful idiots for frothing at the mouth Muslims.....

The kneejerk reaction of Europeans is to condemn Israel. That kind of reaction is nothing but appeasement.

There are so few Europeans that even worth their weight in salt these days when it comes to promoting liberty. They think it is better to appease the evils of Islamists then to confront their moronic behavior. There are not 2 Europeans that are even close to the value to an Israeli in the promotion of Western ideals. American Democrats are also not much better than spineless European trash. I think that Islamaists and Europeans deserve each other. Please give us your wine but leave your amoral ideas to your heathen spineless increasingly tribal society. Europeans remind me of slimy child molesters and should be treated as such. When was the last time that they carried their weight in the world?

The crazed Islamic flotilla, was really designed to provoke and incite violence.......

Why doesn't Europe condemn the flotilla for its desire to create conflict? Clearly, these people wanted these problems.....

Roger's Rules » The secret ingredient in the Obama formula for success

Yikes. The wild dogs are loose and are in pack ready to rip apart flesh.....
Incompetence. Arrogance. Left-wingery. Laziness. The final oddity is the way Obama combines laziness and ambition. For he is certainly ambitious. His efforts to “fundamentally transform the United States of America” are prosecuted by following what Governor Mitch Daniels described as a policy of “shock-and-awe” statism. Here’s how it works: when it comes to achieving his left- wing agenda, Obama is, if not quite tireless, at least dogged and uncompromising. But when it comes to serving the interests of America, he reverts back to his old Senate habit of voting present. (Come to think of it, when was the last time you heard Obama talk about, and endorse, especially American interests? They just don’t figure very prominently on his scale of values.)
But I am not at all surprised by this venom.
